YestirDay

was your best day…

Revisiting the past is essential when it comes to moving forward in life, drawing inspiration or simply satisfying a nostalgic craving.  This is especially the case with music and no one understands this more than new Phase One/Sony Music recording artist, YestirDay.  His name is not only the prelude to the story of his past but also symbolizes and pays homage to the music icons that have influenced not only his sound but his entire aura.  His sexy, smooth dance moves, avant-garde look and overt confidence embody the energy, spirit and legendary qualities of his idols, Prince, Madonna and Michael Jackson.

Born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona, YestirDay loved music growing up but his first love was actually football.  He comes from a long lineage of professional football playing family members.  His dad is former NFL safety Toby Lynn Wright of the St Louis Rams.  So there was no question about YestirDay’s destined career path until forced to give it all up when he tore his ACL while playing college football at Mississippi State.  After college, in an attempt to preserve his sanity and remove himself from the ill-fated streets of Phoenix, YestirDay moved to LA in 2011 and was able to tap into some of his other gifts.  He began pouring all of his energy into comic books, drawing, dancing and writing poetry, which naturally progressed to song lyrics, hooks and choruses.  A positive encounter with a music exec was all the motivation YestirDay needed to continue pressing forward with his music career, and under the vocal coaching of CC Peniston, he started to see the light at the end of the tunnel.  YestirDay is now signed to Phase One Network/Sony Music Records and is currently working on his debut album.

His debut album, Hypnotic Avalanche is just as eclectic in sound as his look and style.  From club banging dance tracks that showcase his west coast influence to the Prince inspired, ‘Sheila’ this album will evoke emotion and memories of a time not only when music was heavily influenced by drugs but was so passionate it could take audiences to a place of euphoric ecstasy where they could transcend the woes of life.  YestirDay explains the passion behind his music.  “I love the art of music and I know I’m as good at it as I was at football.  It’s all I have left.”

This is your music on drugs…
